Vacant Heart

I’ve got to clear
The clutter,
From my space,
From my Mind.

Evacuate the thoughts,
Living there,

Evicting you,
From this place,
For payment
Never rendered.

Locked out
Of my heart,
Your love was never tender.

The rent amount
Was love.
The utilities,
Just Trust.
You paid me misery.
And left me
Only Dust.

In all the corners
Of my heart.
Left me broken,
Torn apart.

How dare,
You bring me only pain.
The tears,
Held back,
Spill again.

The numbness,
Is creeping in.
From fingertips,
Moving up,
To my lips.

I can’t speak,
My lips won’t move.
Numbness spreading,
Fingers cold.
Wanting to hold.

Grasping air,
Eyes fixed,
Into a stare.

The tears,
To my tongue,
I’m slipping,
Coming undone.
The debts of love,

But I am broke,
Of emotion,
And feeling.
I choke,
As I am,
Spinning and reeling.

On the axis,
Of my spine.
A heart vacant,
A soul lost,
And it is
