Numb

Bite my lip,
Until it’s numb.
Till my sharp words,
Are dulled.
I want to rise up,
To meet your feisty tongue,
And fight back,
Until your angers
Lulled.
But,
I know
Deep down,
This war will not be won,
By me,
And my fiery heart.
For you are cold,
And had the advantage from the start.
It does not hurt you,
To strike me down,
And take my breath,
Away.
It will not pain you,
To see me drown,
As lifeless,
In the pool of my bleeding heart,
I lay.
