Groupie Girls

I’ll never compete
With those techno dancing whores
I’ll never vie for your attention
And claw at your door

You’re free to be free
With your body
Your mind
Don’t bother looking back
At the love you left behind

I will move on as you wish
For I’m a prize to be won
And these twenty something girls
Are just plain fucking dumb

No original thoughts
Cookie cutter nights
Can’t differentiate between them
Once you turn on the lights

Covered in glitter
Smell of smoke on their breath
You pushed away the one girl
Who would always love you best

I loved you when you were sweet
I loved you at your worst
I loved you because
You were the only drink
That could always quench
My thirst

Not because you’re famous
In your speaker filled
Electronic room
Not because you know how to make
All the strung out girls swoon

I never was star struck
I didn’t want to be your fan
I only ever wanted to be your lover
And take you by the hand

Show you true happiness
Leave an eternal smile
Upon your face
Stand by your side
Not follow you
But that wasn’t the case

So when you hear
The screaming
Of groupies calling your name
Just remember my love
They are all
Just the same
